Action in Government

He had a great Leadership because he started taking action in the government and politics, these actions make clear that he belongs in the key founders of the American political tradition. He argued with the government by writing letters or publishing newspaper articles. At the end he wrote his own books about better education. His letters, articles and books helped because later the new school system got introduced. His actions in the government made him become popular, that's why he still is well known. He had a lot of arguments but mostly he achieved what he wanted. He believed that he was right and that his goals are possible. That's why we have a school system like he wanted to have.
Travel Around the World
Horace Mann traveled around the world to Europe. There he wanted to get to know the schools. There he found out that the children in Germany for example had a better childhood than most kids in the United States. This made him realize that he needs to change something. He decided to take political actions to make the government see that they can't just keep going with the way they were doing it. He wanted a better education because he saw how the harsh way affected the kids in his country.
Goals
Horace Mann was very motivated to reach his goals. He tried to get the attention he needed to reach his goals. In a few quotes he talked about how important it is for us to at least reach one of our goals in our life. His wish to reach this goal made him the strongest proponents for public education and the common school. A few of his goals were that every kid had the chance of a good education. Another goal was that no child is left behind that means that the teacher had to take care everyone understands what they need to know. He also defended the teacher from the government because the government believed that teachers get overpaid. His goal was to reach something. He wanted to have done something for humanity.
